How to prepare
A standard home printer works great. Colour looks best, but most games include a B&W option designed specifically for black-and-white printers.
Takes about 10 minutes. Covers the full solution, setup steps, and optional hints to give players if they get stuck.
Arrange clues and props as described in the host guide — usually spread on a table or around the room for a more immersive feel.
45 minutes is the classic challenge. Go shorter for experienced puzzle fans, longer (or skip the timer entirely) for kids or a relaxed game night.
How to play
This sets the scene and tells players their mission — solve the puzzles and "escape" before the timer runs out.
Everyone can work together on one puzzle at a time, or split into sub-groups to tackle different clues simultaneously.
The answer to one puzzle becomes the key to the next — a chain of clues that leads toward the final solution. No physical locks required.
Use the hint list in the host guide to give a gentle nudge without revealing the answer. Three tiers of hints are included for each puzzle.
If time expires, reveal the solution together and talk through what you missed. The debrief is half the fun.
